Hi,I've been on salbutamol and anora elipta powder inhalers for a few years, but my bronchiectasis is getting worse.
I also have mild COPD.
The respiratory consultant i saw in 2014 said my bronchiectasis was likely caused by having reflux since my 20s. I'm in my 50s now. I used to smoke, hence the COPD.
I have been put on Trimbow and used it for the first time today. It made me really breathless and is also not a powder inhaler.
I had to use my Salbutamol repeatedly until i could breath more comfortably.
Oddly SP02 remained around 96% while I was struggling.
From everything I've read Trimbow is a COPD and Asthma treatment but is not recommended for bronchiectasis.
Any advice as I'm new to this site would be greatly appreciated.

I have copd and bronchiectasis and I'm on trimbow for the copd and also take carbocisteine for both..inhalers won't work on bronchiectasis my Consultant told me.. she's referred me to physio for it. On some people trimbow can have that effect so perhaps have a word with your gp about I.i know when I take mine it makes me wheezy for a few minutes before settling down..
Thank you Jue5. I've just started working with a new nurse at my surgery and I will ask him. I've taken the trimbow again this morning and actually feel a bit better so am going to give in some time as I have another appointment with my new nurse in a month. I take an over the counter antihistamine too and hasn't taken it for a couple of days as it had run out. My breathlessness improved after I took that last night so it might have been that. Thanks for your reply.
Glad your OK, sometimes it's the technique we use too.i learnt that in pulmonary rehab..I us a spacer now to take mine..Good luck with everything, let us know how your getting on..
I started Trimbow a little over a month ago and stayed with it at 2 puffs twice a day. It's been a game changer for my lungs with huge improvement (that I can feel) and seems to have halted the current Pseudomonas flare ups I was dealing with. Those of us with severe respiratory disease have to be prescribed the high strength Trimbow (there's two strengths). I say stick with it and see if you get improvement. I think the studies said notable improvement happens after a month of use. I always use a spacer with my Trimbow and you have to rise your mouth after each use.
