Can Bronchiectasis go

I had a CT scan at the beginning of 2022 due to a bad cough. I was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis but nothing was done about it. I just had a CT and it says no Bronchiectasis. Is that possible? I am so confused now. I’m seeing my consultant at the end of April. I was on steroids for another condition since 2022 but came of them December 2022.

I don't know if it can come and go but I was similarly confused re. bronchiectasis. My consultant explained that varying diagnoses depended on the interpretation of the radiologist reading the images and the symptom burden. E.g. my images show evidence of bronchiectasis but I have very little mucous production. You could email your consultant or their secretary for clarification or just to make them aware it's something you want to discuss during the consultation. Good luck.

Thank you. I was thinking if it’s not in a flare then does it not show up on the CT. I don’t have an appointment until the end of April and I rang the secretary but she said she isn’t medical so can’t talk to me about it. Consultant is too busy to speak to me until my appointment. I am the same as you in that I have very little mucus production.

It's a puzzle. But then so is so much to me!🤣 Maybe have that issue top of your list to discuss at your consultation.

Bronchiectasis does not disappear, once it’s diagnosed by Ct and consultant confirms , I’m afraid it’s a life long condition… if you need any info I suggest you message “ littlepom” she’s had it a long long time and she is always happy to help … she’s our very own Littlepom consultant , love her xx
