Confused..... 😬

I’m still very confused. I’ve now been changed to a consultant that specialises in Bronchiectasis.

She’s asked me to draw a line under all the confusing info I’ve had so far.

So .... I’ve now got to send in samples as she would like to see what bugs I’m growing but won’t be treating with antibiotics unless I have other symptoms and feel ill.

So.....

1. Why do we do this?

2. If no other symptoms, what’s exactly happening down there?

3. What’s an infection and whats an exacerbation?

I’ll get there in the end 😬

When I was being treated by my GP I would just let him know if I developed a cough and he would prescribe antibiotics and I’d carry on. Since seeing pulmonary doctor I now have to give a sample. I think an infection is the same as an exacerbation. It’s all very confusing really.

My physical symptoms are constantly changing.

I just try to get a lot of rest when I cough more and I am super careful to not overdo anything.
