Bronchiectasis and ABPA at home on IVs with a pneumonia infection.

Am on 40mg prednisolone (APBA) not tapering as yet but still breathless. IV Pipercillin Tazobactum for 14 days. Have had many IVs so used to it all.

I’m still inhaling Colomycin and taking Flucloxacillin as the usual prophylactics as well. Have you continued with yours on IVs ? When I inhale the pain in lungs is present. Just curious. I will ask when I return for second week.

Thank you.

I realise that what works for one , does not necessarily work with another, but having had Asthma and COPD, as well as Bronchietasis , for a long time, I got fed up and asked a Dr point blank, what else can you do. Because I was more or less housebound, with these troubles. Gasping for breath while doing nothing, very tired all the time, fortunately, she found a new Tablet called Acepiro, which is dissolved in water , once a day . Fantastic, in no time I was free of the breathless ,feeling and no longer tired.

I have already posted this on here, but not had any feedback. Which has surprised me, I can,t say often enough, that this tablet is just about a miracle, I can now walk, with the help of a Rollater, Because of my Arthritis, I am careful not to go too far, but what a difference ! .

Hi Annie

'

I have been on Flucloxacillin two week cures för about 15 years. I generally need to take the antibiotic 5 to six times a year. I always notice a great increase in sputum production prior to treatment and a sample is sent for antibiotic resistance testing before clinical administration. Sofar the only culprit has been stapholycoccus aureus and always treatable with Flucloxacillin . I have had no side effects despite the great amount of antibiotics given me. I have had known bronchiectasis for approximately 50 years. Hope you will find this interesting. Best wishes.

Thank you for your comment. It’s good to hear you keep well on this drug. It’s very good. I grown the same and Pseudomonas. Fingers crossed all will be fine after a few weeks. My IV will shift the lurking ones. Then back to the normal day to day prophylactics.
