Do you find your overall strength affected by bronchiectasis?

Hi, I was diagnosed with this condition about 7 years ago after about 2 years of being told by my gp it was asthma! I was signed off the hospital after 2 visits and my gp seems reluctant to talk to me about it so I rely on info from the net! Prior to this I had always been pretty fit and played rugby till my late 30s, I'm 50 now. I've noticed since my diagnosis my strength has completely gone. Does anyone know if this is a symptom? When I ask my doctors they say maybe.

Thanks

G
