Interesting idea, right? Antioxidants like green tea extracts and vitamins C and E have been shown to offer protective effect from sun damage. But, how much can they protect us from inside out? Well, studies have tested sunscreen pills with ingredientes like Polypodium leucotomos (a fern).
At the moment looks like these sunscreen pills provides the equivalent to an SPF of 3 to 5 (Not much!) with very high doses (possibly not safe?) of the active ingredients. Considering recommendations are much higher, looks like we need to continue the hard labour of applying sunscreen.
What do you think?
Have you used or use sunscreen pills?
