Hi unfortunately you cant add your friends name to the list.

It has to be done by a medical professional that deems them the need to have a transplant. I had mine in 2010 but I was listed and 12 hours later i had my transplant - this was due to the flu jab and another issue to have a liver transplant. If its drink related then you have to prove to the medical team that they have been DRY for 6 months and that they dont want to do a GB (Geogre Best)

Good luck and keep me posted

Thats Ok.

The medical profession that yopu have to ask is the liver team - and not the GP. What hospital are they based at??

Hi Waldo,

You may not be able to add their name to the transplant list but there's lots you can do as a friend to support them in being well enough for a transplant, which is a big thing and getting dry if thats an issue for them. This site is full of really useful information, nit to mention very supportive, knowledgeable friends through thi this forum. I've recently used both to help me support my brother with end stage liver failure, sadly he was too ill to even make it onto the transplant list and we lost him, but the Trust's helpline, the site and the forum all helped enormously at a really hard time.

Good luck, supportive friends and family make a huge difference.
