Hi I'm very new to this and just looking for advise and support .I had bloods 3 months ago and my liver function tests were higher than they should be.
I had some more done yesterday and this time they have gone up quite sharply ..
The serum alanine is 4x what it should be ..
The gp office rang and has made an appointment already ..
There is others that have gone up quite alot too .
Just sat here worrying so thought I'd get some advice .

Hi! It is good you have an appointment for further investigation. In the meantime you can make things as easy as possible for your liver to handle through healthy liver diet (lots of veggies and some fruit, some extra virgin olive oil, fish (especially omega 3 fatty fish like salmon), white meat chicken, unrefined grains (not the white stuff). Best to avoid alcohol, added sugar (natural sugar in fruit is ok), fried fatty foods, saturated fats and refined breads (stick with grains like brown rice, stoneground wheat, oats). If you are well enough and doctor approves, walking or other moderate exercise can help. The British Liver Trust has info on healthy diet, tests you might be getting and a hotline for people in the UK to ask their nurses questions. Best of luck!
