Hi. 2 years ago I had nafld and following fibroscan and ultrasound have now been given result of F4. I'm so frightened as I watched my father die of the same disease and I don't understand how this has happened. I had my gallbladder removed in May, it was inflamed and was stuck to my liver. I also have high cholesterol, controlled t2 diabetes. I am not overweight. I really need to understand this disease and stop it progressing. The gi doctor says he isn't concerned. Should I ask to go back to the hepatologist I was seeing before lock down? Sorry for long post, there's so much going on in my head!

Hi Kat, I’ve just seen your post - sorry it took a while. I’m so sorry that you lost your Dad. It’s really hard losing someone and knowing you’ve got the same illness. My Mum and I both have/had autoimmune liver diseases and she died 2 years ago. I think it adds an extra layer of fear to the situation. I try not to think about it and know that zI started treatment much earlier than Mum.
To answer your question, I think I would go back to the hepatologist you’ve seen previously. It sounds like you got on with them and they will have more expert knowledge. If that will give you confidence that you’re receiving the best care, it’s worth asking if you can see them. Good luck and hang in there
