Hi Greeneyesgirlx, what to eat with liver disease can be a total minefield. In a former life I was a sports nutritionist and sometimes I still struggle! I rarely eat pasta, bread or potatoes but am lucky in that I don’t particularly like them! Sweet things are my downfall. The best advice I can give is to try and not get stressed by it, there are lots of good books and advice on the internet. Ultimately, ask for a referral to a dietitian, you can be referred by your GP or consultant. You may need to push for this depending on your medical professional’s attitude but don’t give up. I hope this helps a little and good luck.

3 weeks is very soon to notice much difference it will need to be a lifetime of change. I have changed my diet even though l wasn’t over weight in the first place but l did eat a lot of not so healthy food. I now eat mainly a Mediterranean diet. I don’t eat butter bread potatoes very little cheese and only low fat. Don’t eat ready meals and watch your portion sizes. You will get there slowly good luck

There's an old saying "a little of what you fancy does you good"Emphasis on "the little"

From my dietician.

Potato.

2-3 small pieces once or twice a week

Pasta.

Enough to cover the palm of your hand (flat not heaped) once or twice a week.

Green veg unlimited.

Salad unlimited

Red meat 100g 3x a week

Root veg in moderation.

Bread one slice a day.

White Fish unlimited.

Oily fish twice a week

From my liver Consultant.

If you fancy a donut have one.

Just don't have one every day!

I like my consultant.
