We are holding an online information session about current research activity on:
Tuesday, 15th October from 11.30am to 12.45pm
British Liver Trust staff will give a brief overview, including how patients and the general public can get involved in research.
We will then hear from the following two research projects:
The PROMISE Study
Faecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT), or poo transplant, to reduce susceptibility to infections resulting in hospitalisation for patients with liver disease by replacing the unfriendly bowel bacteria in patients with good bacteria donated from healthy volunteers
The OPAL and EMERALD Trials
The current OPAL and upcoming EMERALD trials will see if people with advanced liver cirrhosis can benefit from receiving altered versions of one of their own immune cells, called macrophages.
There will be a 10-15 minute question and answer session to close.
To register to attend this Zoom session, please email: research@britishlivertrust.org.uk putting 'Spotlight on Research' in the subject line.
