Increased echogenicity

hi

had a report on my last ultrasound it said the above and normal everything else normal flow etc . When I googled it looked like it just means it’s picked up light colored bits on my liver which I know anyway , but then I started to worry that it’s says increased does that mean more scaring than my last ultrasound ? That my condition is worse . Tia

Hello! I would go see the doctor who performed both ultrasounds and inquire about it. I would ask him to compare both results and explain whether there are any changes.

Thanks was just confused as I thought they were only looking for focal lesions

'Increased echogenicity' in ultrasound reports usually means an increase in tissue density from the 'norm' rather than changes or an increase since your last report.

Any differences from your previous scans would normally be commented on.
