sudden high ggt and alp

I have autoimmune disease and have been on medications including methotrexate which is a form of chemotherapy. Yesterday I was advised my GGT went from 28 to 196 and alp from 50 to 107, within 4 months. Dr said it was not from the methotrexate. I did drink a few weeks ago which is unusual for me, I am not a drinker. I did feel terrible for days after. I am thin/medium build. Exercise 4 times a week, eat very healthy. I look after myself but this has scared me.

High ALP and GGT combined often points to a more biliary issue and there are two autoimmune conditions which can particularly affect the bile ducts - Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis and Primary Biliary Cholangitis so if this pattern of elevation persists it might be worth checking whether either of these may be at play ........... having any auto immune condition means you are susceptable to others.

Thank you for this information. It’s helpful. I am having more bloods in 2 weeks then a scan. I have always been very aware of my liver and trying to keep it healthy with the medications I take for lupus and RA. It’s always been fine so was shocked to have such a rise so quickly.
