My partner has his first follow up appointment next week after a 3 week stay in hospital. Came home 17th July.

We really don’t know what to expect at this appointment. Could anyone share what we should expect.

He has done amazingly well and stuck to all the requirements although not felt well enough to do much walking but it is improving.

He still struggles with the unsettled nights sleeping and tiredness. Does this get better?

Thanks in advance for continued support.

Hi. Who is the follow up with? The nurse or the consultant? I had a follow up with the nurse who was amazing. So much more thorough and informative than any of the doctors in the hospital. She went through all my blood tests, did a thorough physical exam and changed follow up bloods the consultant asked for from twice weekly LFT to full bloods every week and she follows it up with a weekly phone call. The specialist nurses are brilliant. I also have terrible sleep ad fatigue and I’m hoping this improves over time . Mild fibrosis was diagnosed as a result of a biopsy . Do t worry they are keeping an eye on things and I imagine healthy living can only improve things but it does take time I’m told. . My sleep is absolutely terrible aswell and fatigue if I do too much. I don’t know why sleep is affected but anxiety does come at night only for some reason . Let me know if you get any tips and all the best

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes appointment is with the liver specialist nurse at the hospital. I was a little concerned until I read your reply. It sounds like they do an amazing job and doesn’t have to been seen by the consultant which is reassuring. Thank you
