Ongoing journey to F3 fibrosis regression!

Hi everyone,

I posted last February and started on my journey to do what I can to fight this disease.

My last scores were a CAP of 277 and a KPA score of 10.7.

12% IQR

so made progress on the CAP score - now 194 so S0.

made some progress on KPA down to 10. So still F3 but going in the right direction.

13% IQR

Got my follow up with my consultant next week so interested what the plan will be in terms of monitoring? Suspect it will be 6 monthly fibro scans?

My key strategy was weight loss. In 6 months lost 5 and a half stone and now fit as a fiddle. So even if I cannot get any further regression, I can stop it progressing and have a much healthier outlook.

It is hard to keep it up but having set some goals and with the huge help and support of my wife and kids makes it easier.

To everyone out there on this journey, keep going! I have to believe it’s possible and if I get another 0.7 in the next 6 months it means my liver is healing and that’s worth it.

Have a brill evening everyone and enjoy the sunshine ☀️

Sounds to me like you are what doctors call a "ideal patient". Just keeping doing what you are doing and you might indeed end up with some very good news in six months or a year. Keep at it and Good For You!

Just seen the liver nurse..says i have metabolic liver disease which is the reason for the cirrhosis.. says i don't need another fibroscan but she wouldnt be suprised if my kpa score was reduced. going forward i will have 6 monthly scans and blood tests and to keep doing what im doing with Mediterranean diet and eating no processed foods.. had blood tests to rule out celiac disease .... ultra sound requested.. all in all better than i expected and no camera down throat.. only offered now to patients with a kpa over 20 and low blood cell counts... onwards and upwards..
