Hi there it certainly is possible to reverse, there are plenty of folks on this forum who can attest to it. Time scales are a different issue. With abstinence you should see a difference after 6 months especially if diet and exercise are in the mix. Everyone's different though. Stay healthy and good luck with it.

Thanks bricolone , i must be too stressed . I m just happy this is not cirrhosis but i was afraid abstinence would not be efficient . After reading lots of things , i think if i m surious , there is no reason it s getting worst and at least Stay the way it is . Thks

yeah don't stress out on this...the only time I've been offered a fibroscan was on a British liver trust road show and it was 7.2 at the time some years ago. I suspect it's a good deal worse now as I did't take sufficient care of my fatty liver. Had I lost weight earlier I reckon I could have reversed it. Stick with it-best wishes K

Good morning Cedcerven,

Firstly - congratulations on your abstinence !

It is possible to see a decrease in your fibroscan score with abstinence, but not so easy to put a time on it. The NHS tends to offer Fibroscan annually , and this would seem a reasonable time frame to notice any improvement with positive lifestyle changes of abstinence, good nutritious diet and exercise.

Keep up the good work!
