Do you live with hepatitis B and want to help shape the language used to talk about it?

The UK government is developing a language guide that clinicians and other healthcare professionals will refer to when they are interacting with patients. This guide aims to reduce the stigma that HBV patients often face. You are invited to a focus group where you will give feedback on the work they have undertaken so far, with a particular emphasis on the section around stigma.

Can I take part?

Yes, if you are over 18 years old, live in the UK, and are living with Hepatitis B. You don’t need to have British citizenship to take part in the research, and you don’t need to have previous experience of attending a focus group. We are looking for a wide range of participants to take part.

What will I need to do?

The focus group will take place in South East London on Tuesday 6th August between 2pm and 3pm, and is a short walk from London Bridge station. You will be given vouchers in payment for your time and contribution, plus reimbursement of travel costs.

We will ask you to review the language guide, in particular the section around stigma, and give your feedback on how it can be improved.

I am interested, what should I do now?
