Hi all,

I've been feeling unwell for months now. I've had blood tests, scans, and have been told I have an FNH that's about 5.7cm. I've been told this has nothing to do with my symptoms, but it's in the left lobe, and I swear I can feel it when I move around. Physical activity makes the pain worse, and the dry heaving/retching. I just feel it in my bones that this thing is taking up valuable real estate, and making my other organs not function quite so well. I can't eat anywhere near as much in one sitting as I used to, get full quickly, and have a laundry list of symptoms. I'm not looking for any advice as such, just wanting to see how many others out there have FNH and feel it's their problem, even when being told "it's completely benign, it has nothing to do with your symptoms". The righteous indignation in me wants to see how many are out there, and see if we can challenge the thought process that is the current norm. I am not concerned it's cancer, I am not trying to convince myself it's something sinister, I can understand it's a benign lesion. However, it's a decent size, surely that has to have some consequence? My LFT's have been varied, and other blood tests have been wonky, but I keep being told "yes it's out of range but not in a clinically significant way". I feel like maybe this is one of those hidden conditions we don't know a lot about, need to raise awareness of, and need to study to improve our knowledge.

Hi, I am still awaiting final diagnosis, however the doctors are thinking that my lesion is a FNH, however after ultrasound, ct scan and mri scan they still cannot tell me for sure if it is benign or malignant. It is very large (11cm x 6cm x 6cm) and close to my main blood supply to the liver, so they propose going straight to surgery, regardless of whether it is benign or not.

However, I can honestly say that I have no symptoms whatsoever, it was a totally unexpected find after having a raised ALP level highlighted on blood tests for a different issue, which then led to the ultrasound. I was gobsmacked when they told me how big it is because I have no pain, no sickness or anything.

I wish you well trying to get to the bottom of what is causing your problems.
