Hi williamsblue, I'm sorry to see that your passed on to Marie curie , I'm living with cirrhosis myself , have been called in to the ward tomorrow morning at QE , as I have some issue that needs addressing.

When I was first diagnosed , I had a very hard distended stomach, this was down to ascites , fluid build up in the cavity of the tummy due to my liver not being able to rid the toxins very well .

Are you still under a liver team at all ? I'm.no medic so I cannot really say for sure why your tummy is hard ,I'm only going on how I was ,ended up having 3x drains done to help reduce the fluid.

I hope you get things sorted asap

My very best

Linda

That's good to know, not long now to wait for your scan , yes I had pain alongside feeling breathless ,couldn't walk far at all either as my feet and legs had swollen with fluid retention. I hope you get answers on Friday 😊

If you do have fluid in your tummy then make sure your ok to get this drained , it really does give so much relief afterwards

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling unwell. It's understandable to be worried given your symptoms. There could be several reasons for your swollen and hard stomach, such as gas, fluid retention, or other digestive issues. Since your doctor mentioned that your lower bowel is empty but your stomach is full, it could be related to something that is causing your stomach to retain contents. It’s important to follow up with your healthcare provider for a detailed evaluation and to discuss your concerns. They can offer specific insights and suggest appropriate tests or treatments to address your symptoms. In the meantime, try to stay hydrated and monitor any changes in your condition. Take care.
