GGT test
Hi there and welcome to the forum.
First off who requested the blood tests and what follow up plan is there in place?
A high GGT is a sign of something amiss in the liver and is very commonly associated with some degree of fatty liver disease. Diabetes, particularly poorly controlled diabetes is a big risk factor for NAFLD (Non Alcohol Related Fatty Liver Disease) now also being known as MASLD (metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease).
There are medical guidelines in place as to what further investigations should be done and you can view these at:- nice.org.uk/guidance/ng49/c...
The British Liver Trust has some excellent information and resources about NAFLD/MASLD including what you can do to try and treat it at :- britishlivertrust.org.uk/in...
You certainly need more medical follow up to ascertain what stage you are at etc. Don't panic but do make sure you receive further medical care on this, the good news is you can generally slow, stop and even reverse fatty liver.
Best wishes,
Katie

Excellent advice from Katie as always and the BLT nurses are excellent. Stick with them and you won’t go far wrong.
I’d just add that worrying won’t help, in fact it will just make both blood sugars and your liver worse. However, doing something about both will help. See what your doctors , diabetic nurses and liver nurses recommend. Be kind to yourself
