What medication can be used to cure persistent hiccups? Patient is not mobile and incontinent. No idea when death may occur. Or how. Hiccups are making him vomit. Wits end and hardly any sleep trying to cope. Palliative care in day for washing and pad changes. District nurse, when rarely tracked down, for bed sore dressing and rocket drain dressing.

Chlorpromazine can be prescribed for intractable hiccups. I would also discuss with the GP the vomiting aspect which must be awful for the patient.
