Blood patches?

There are a lot of very knowledgeable people on here, and I wonder if someone can explain the sort of "blood" bruises I keep getting on my forearms.

I first noticed them after transplant about 18months ago. Smallish patches, deep purple/red, which fade over a few days. I notice there is a little dent in the flesh under the patch. When one of my meds, Myfenax (or something like that) was stopped shortly after transplant, the patches reduced. But I have noticed I am getting them again over the last week or so. I have had a few issues post transplant- CMV and reduced kidney function (down to 21%) to mention just two...

I have pointed out these patches to my lovely doctors and consultants-- who all, I have to say have been absolutely wonderful-- but no one has been at all concerned, or really explained what they are, why they happen and what their significance is.

Does anyone on here know?

Thanks, and love and best wishes to all.

Do they look like this? The bottom left has spider veins, which are typical of liver issues. The other two are Leukocytoclastic Vasculitis, which is caused by reactions to medications. If they vanish after stopping medication, that is good. Although the condition does appear on the skin it can also cause issues with LFT's, Kidneys...etc... If your doctor is not worried they probably checked your blood and determined there is no issue.

Thank you so much for replying.

More like the top two pictures, though nowhere near as many-- sometimes one blotch, and as far as I remember, no more than about three/four. Never more than about 2cm/ under an inch, sometimes much smaller.

Since posting, I have had a call from the GP saying I need to have blood tests and medication review, so perhaps they did pick something up in recent blood tests, so what you have said makes sense. Your post has been very helpful.

Thanks again, much appreciated.

Best wishes
