Hi all, I had a friboscan last December 6th and got results there and then from the Nurse which were favourable. (I also had an US last May) But I still haven't seen a consultant yet to discuss my diagnosis. I've rung the hospital booking centre once who said I'm on a waiting list to be reviewed. Any idea on what timescale is acceptable or do I need to chase more? I've already made positive steps re diet exercise etc.Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for reading
Jo

If you would find it useful to talk things over, our nurse-led helpline is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm on 0800 652 7330 (excluding bank holidays)
Also, here is the link to our Patient Charter which states clearly the rights you have, in terms of your care, as a patient with a liver condition.
Hi JoMy fibroscan was 17.9 last March (2023). Like you I got my results straight away. It took until this March (2024) before I had a liver biopsy. So the time scale can be anything. I ended up emailing my consultant directly and found they had misplaced my info. Hope this gives you some idea Jo.
Mike, thanks for you reply. Wow, that seems a long time to wait, but I am glad things are moving forward for you now. I may have to be more direct, but as yet, the contact would be with the service as I haven't got a name of a consultant, but I could look that up. Jo
I had my fibroscan in November 2022, which was worse than my first one, with a score of 363 and 14.9. I had blood tests in March 2023 and have just had an letter for a telephone appointment with the consultant for the end of this month. Waiting times are horrendous at the moment depending on your hospital.
Thanks for your reply, I agree waiting times are scarily long at the moment. I'm glad you've got a phone appointment soon. I'm going to contact the British Liver Trust and chase the hospital again.Jo
