dental work with liver disease

I need dental work as in extractions. What procedures do I need to ask my doctor and dentist . I moved and need a new dentist.

I have liver fibrosis and am currently under going root canal treatment and crown. Just need to inform dentist of it and any meds.

My dentist always wants to know my platelet level as I bled out when I had a tooth taken out, blood wouldn't clot, ended up having emergency treatment in hospital. Good luck, hope all goes well

I have Cirrosis. Diagnosed 11 years ago. I’ve had a tooth extracted today. My dentist referred me to hospital for the procedure. Had to go for bloods taken yesterday and my platelets are 50. They said the cut off point is 50 so went ahead. If thry were under 50 I would have had an infusion. They have put a stitch in which dissolves. And the staff were fantastic. I couldn’t have wished for better treatment. I am currently taking paracetamol and will continue to do so until the pain subsides.

Thank you. I’m sitting here thinking of a time when things were so simple…or were they! I’m grateful for all the medical advances we have available….maybe not perfect, but still darn good.⏳
