I am experiencing incredibly painful foot leg and hand cramps during the night and can't sleep as I'm continuously flying out of the bed and pacing the floor. Does anyone else have this. I went to boots and the pharmacist said because you are on diuretics you are deficient in things. She recommended magnesium and gave me two different types.

Cramps
Probably low potassium eat plenty of bananas and drink plenty of pure orange helped me
Sorry to hear that. I was advised 1 glass of tonic water at night for the cramps and take a good quality multivitamin everyday. That’s has helped me with the cramps and pain in joints.
Hi, I suffer the same, I was told I was low in potassium, I now take a high strength magnesium and amazon sell an amazing magnesium body butter which I rub on my feet and legs at bed time, and I can honestly say I've only had spasms around 3 times in the last 3 mths. Plus now and again I drink a glass if tonic water. Hope this helps has the pain is horrendous and still hurts the next day.
Thanks all. Much appreciated 👍🙏
Magnesium is definitely my go to remedy. Supposedly helps with sleep as well.
I had very painful cramps until the wife ordered 500 mg tablets and I take two a day one am one pm , No cramps at all now 👍.
Stay safe All

Hi thereYes I'm on diuretics as well.
As I have liver cirrhosis and had a stomach bypass I live on supplements so constantly show as low on potassium magnesium phosphates and calcium so I suggest asking for a blood test to see if you are low on these electrolytes.
I also have vascular issues so cramps in the legs can also be due to circulation issues so speak to your gp to see what's going on.
Good luck
Try drinking tonic water. Also, Hyland has a natural cramp relief cream (and tablets, but I avoid them due to liver having to process them). The cramps subsided for me after a while. Good luck and prayers for you
