And my muscle's are getting weaker pain in liver area, runny nose always feeling cold and night sweats with shivering in the mornings. The GP doctor said all my bloods are fine last year I broke out with psoriasis all over my body I think I have decomponsated cirrhosis and doctor doesn't seem to be listening.

In my opinion gps are all about general medicine, if your totally unsure A&E or speak to a nurse here it's free, I was ill for five Days experiencing some of your symptoms, I was very unwell is your urine dark?? I take no chances if your not happy with your doctor's advice or opinion then go to hospital don't wait!!!!!Good going friend

It's definitely NOT a good idea in the UK to recommend anyone to go to A&E which is for "Accidents and Emergencies" for minor or chronic conditions thst are certainly not urgent. "The clue is in the nsme". What this person is experiencing may be very uncomfortable and worrying for them, but the first stop is with their GP who should refer them to a specialist. Overcrowding at NHS hospitals is a nightmare. A primary cause is non-emergencies attending A&E.

Hello, I was just making a suggestion,, that's all and as most of us are not experts in this field like myself I wasn't even aware of warning signs, and my own GP was quite useless!!!!! Telling me I had trapped wind... In fact I saved my life as I had a seriously swollen gallbladder and spleen. Due to an already pressured liver!!!! So my opinion to this matter was and is only based on my experience,, A&E Was for my own circumstances a good experience, in fact my consultant suggested that if I have an problems not to hesitate to appear to A&E he/they said it's better to be safe than sorry! As GP's know very little about complex Liver conditions,, again, Bikafella I was just trying to give some advice based on my own experience!Have a good day

You're right I don't fancy sitting around in A&E for 15hours

You NEED to be under a gastro consultant (not for your liver because it's been cleared in all the tests you've had) but for the hiatus hernia you have and possibly the IBS linked to your pre-existing fibromyalgia.

Push your GP for referral to gastro for the diagnosis you already have instead of keep coming back here and convincing yourself you have more things wrong with you.

You have numerous diagnosis's already which could account for the pains, the cramps etc. you are experiencing.

You say you have fibromyalgia which can account for many of your symptoms along with possible IBS and then your hiatus hernia.

I take it you have researched fibromyalgia because many of the symptoms you list could directly be related to it.

Painful joints, fibro fog can account for your 'brain fog' - you can't have decompensated liver disease (which you are convincing yourself you have) and normal bloods it just doesn't happen that way, in decompensated cirrhosis your liver is failing and therefore the bloods reflect that and yours don't.

You need to be seen by a gastro for you hiatus hernia which is most likely the cause of your sulpherous burps etc.

With a hiatus hernia you may:

have a painful burning feeling in your chest, often after eating (heartburn)

bring up small amounts of food or bitter-tasting fluids (acid reflux)

have bad breath

burp and feel bloated

feel or be sick

have difficulty or pain when swallowing

PUSH FOR A REFERRAL TO A GASTRO ENTEROLOGIST FOR YOUR HIATUS HERNIA AT LEAST - THE NHS PAGE SAYS IT NEEDS DEALT WITH IF SYMPTOMS PERSIST FOR LONGER THAN 3 WEEKS.

I don't know the answer to your question so would suggest getting professional advice but I have suffered with incredible pain in my legs and lower back for the last year. İn the end the hospital out me in for medication for gout because my uric acid levels have always been high and don't seem to reduce. I too had severe psoriasis pre diagnosis. When I was admitted to hospital I needed penicillin drips for a week as I had an infection associated with acities and low magnesium but that calmed down once I stopped drinking and have been medicated.

So have you been diagnosed with cirrhosis

Decompensated cirrosis with acities managed by diuretics is the diagnosis. Under the liver consultant at QE hospital Birmingham.

Hi, my husband has just been diagnosed with compensated liver desease, after leaving hospital and having ascites drained, 3 weeks later he's complaining of a salty taste, can anyone help what this can be thankyou x

I sometimes have a distinctly salty taste in my mouth, but more often it's a sweetish-fecal taste. For me, it's related to hepatic encephalopathy (HE). Perhaps your husband has some other reason.

in reply toTp807

I take 500mg of magnesium a day

Hi Maco, please listen to Katie. Never mind having more tests requested by your GP, if you aren’t going to trust the answers they they give you. You need to request a referral to a gastroenterologist. That’s the only way you’re going to get answers to your questions. Whatever symptoms people have got on here doesn’t matter - we can’t diagnose, and it’s just feeding your anxiety, potentially making your symptoms worse.

Have you had an upper GI endoscopy?

in reply toHarting

Last time was about 3 years ago, I had a barium swallow last April.

I'd get another and see how big it is now etc. Worth doing every few years.
