High gamma gt

Hi. My husband has cirrhosis and at the moment is compensated. He is worried because his latest gamma gt blood test was over 600. Should we be worried. He has no hospital appointment till after Christmas

What happened or was said two years ago when his GGT elevated hugely again?

My husbands went up to 1500 his ALP was also raised . Unbeknown to him he has a stone in his bile duct which had caused the raised numbers .Although it has been there for a while these numbers do fluctuate and it’s only recently that plans are being put into place for a laparoscopy to remove it as he has recently been jaundiced and in pain . Do you have a liver nurse you can speak with? or have a word with his GP . My husbands slowly came down but raised again recently do to the above , but was back to normal the next week

I'm always amazed as the Doctor here had said see your wife has cirrhosis.. even though imaging said no and pointed at her GGT which was 95 at its highest her ALP never ever went over normal.
