Hi,I am going to have a biopsy tomorrow and they have asked me not to take my insulin [type-2 dka] as " may need sliding scale" but not sure about what this means?
I'm ok to take my other oral meds.
I am trying to avoid Dr Google as this has caused more unnecerssary worry than needed,
thanks

I am T1 - so obviously insulin dependant - Basically all it is that the hospital will look after your blood glucose. Short acting Insulin, if you need it, will be delivered through a drip - they will check your bloods regular through finger pricks and tweak any insulin to suit your blood glucose at the time. Long lasting insulin, if your on that is taken as normal - or was in my case - Hope this helps.
