How do i get help
Hello Tonbolt, I'm not sure what the problem is except that you say you previously reverses type 2 (presumably diabetes) on your own.
It would help if you could give some clues about why you need a dietitian? Presumably you are overweight but we don't know how much. Are there metabolic factors that need to be resolved: cholesterol, BP, thyroid, etc?
Conversely, if you have advanced liver disease which is why you are posting here, you may be malnourished, have a scarce/poor diet and need help with that.
If you tell us the problem, we may be able to advise.
Is my bio not visible sure I made I public.
I've read it now. My sympathies. I wondernif it would be helpful for you to note all you have done and all you have asked for in a timeline, discuss objectively with your GP and ask for it to be incorporates in your notes. Nothing like some hard facts to focus their minds to mitigate their risks in my experience.
Good luck.
welcome to the DIY nhs. You have to do all the chasing to get anywhere. All the best
If it makes anyone feel better, in the US, I've spent a week trying to get insurance to cover my rx. 5 phone calls so far.
Hi Tonbolt
There is a course called “XPert Diabetes”. This is a free course that some NHS areas (all? I don’t know!) can send you on. It is usually a course you attend - six two and a half hours sessions - but I have seen it advertised as an on-line course as well.
I went on the course sent by the Diabetes nurse at my GP surgery when I lived in Derbyshire - and it’s fantastic and tells you all about the different types of diets you can have that improve your diabetes - as well as lots of other useful information. For me, following the Low Carb/High Fat diet - along with exercise - allowed me to come off my high strength Metformin tablets.
Try Googling “XPert Diabetes”. Hope you find it useful. Oh and instead, if you want an alternative, there’s a book from the course which contains all the info that the course itself covers.
Good luck!
Miles
