Have a transplant assessment end of July in St. Vincent’s Hospital Dublin. It’s an outpatient appointment and letter does not say I have to stay overnight.
Does anyone have any advice on what one should ask on the day that would be important to ask? I’m not sure what to ask really apart from a few obvious ones. Worried I’ll come away wishing I’d have asked something I didn’t think of 🤔
Thanks guys.

There are no "right" questions. Apologies if I state the obvious, a pen and paper is a good start, both before, during and after. Add questions as and when and write key info they give you down.
Ask them how you get back in touch with them if/when any further questions/concerns come to you after the assesment. Try to get a medium that is as reponsive as possible (phone contact would be great 😀).
Try to be as relaxed as posible, remember they are on your side 👍 Try and have someone go with you if possible - two heads better than one. All places vary about how much they will allow the other person access during the assesment but a secondry set of eyes and ears always helps.
Good luck and fingers crossed that they will be able to help you.
Tbh we were inundated with so much information we really didn’t need to ask much at all. I hope the same goes for you on this assessment-(which I presume is the first assessment of two?)
Hi, take a notebook and note down any questions you have when you think of them and any information you are given. British liver trust website has a section on questions you can ask, may be helpful to readbritishlivertrust.org.uk/in...
I had my assessment at Addenbrookes lots of blood tests, lung function test, heart ultrasound, ct scan, x ray, lots of talking to the transplant team. They have to check you are sick enough to need a transplant but healthy enough to survive the massive surgery.I

if it’s anything like QHB you get a small novel to go through and several other booklets that I struggled to think of anything to ask that wasn’t already in the literature.
