Only symptoms I ever had right until transplant was vomiting up blood, nothing else felt fine. Everybody is different.

I've never been a drinker. Issues with my liver showed up through standard GP blood tests. Took years to slowly deteriorate. To be honest, never felt ill... Sort of reached different turning points-- vomiting blood Dec 2018, ascites (build up of fluid around abdomen I think about 2020. Liver transplant Sept 2022 after 15m on waiting list. But as Yellowsydney says, pretty sure everyone's experience different.

So how are you after your liver transplant, any complications ? And what’s the expectancy once someone has a liver transplant ? Hope you’re doing well

Transplant...weird. I was far from home, and desperately missed family and home, a 5 hour round trip for my husband. For me, virtually no pain, but lots of unexpected oddities. Seemed to me I hardly slept, even within days of the xplant. Lying awake, waiting for the dawn.... strange delusions (apparently to be expected!) Medications taking time to get used to, sorting out right levels. They messed with my diabetes, and with my blood pressure, terrible cramps- inner thigh, shin-- places difficult to ease!

I also picked up a virus from the donor liver, which apparently can happen-- it builds up and makes its presence known about 3m after transplant, and there is a treatment. So not plain sailing, but better than the alternative, and I am so grateful to the donor and family. Bless them all. Back at work since February, and managing okay--not perfect-- but okay. Still see QE Birmingham regularly which is reassuring. Mostly monitored via blood tests. Good luck to you on your journey.
