everything I read tells me this can be reversed if I stop drinking. Can’t get into my GI doc for two weeks and stressed

Take the 2 weeks to really analyse yourself, why you drink, when you drink, how you think your doctor can help you, what to ask etc etc then you will get the maximum help out of your appointment. And yes, fatty liver disease can be helped -folks will be glad to help you if you decide that's what you want. Take careEwife xx
Take steps now to get yourself started on the road to recovery. Your doctor can only advise you - they can't treat your fatty liver and alcohol usage so that comes down to you. Stopping drinking and looking after yourself better is the only way your liver can heal and yes it is possible so start now.

It’s completely reversible and at the moment your liver can repair itself. Leave it and it will deteriorate and potentially become irreversible. It’s therefore important you do something now. Two simple things (although not always so simple to do)….knock alcohol on the head completely for a while and then either leave it alone altogether(best) or drink within recommended levels. Eat a healthy balanced diet. There’s some really good nutritional advice for keeping your liver healthy on the BLT web site. Essentially, plenty of fruit and veg along with fish or white meat. I’ve also become a fan of pulses for my protein, chickpea curry is now one of my favourites. It won’t take long if you do these two things for your liver to return to normal along with the bloods.
