in some of these liver blood tests that have the alpha2 macroglobulin Levels In it, what does it represent and the range is 106-279. What is considered a slight elevation and a high elevation. Also can it be lowered. Thanks

It ia a part of Fibrosure (Fibrotest) for example. But alone it cannot tell you much.

Alpha-2-macroglobulin is a high molecular weight glycoprotein that is synthesized primarily in the liver. There is a positive correlation of serum alpha-2-macroglobulin levels with the progression of the stages of fibrosis. Its level cannot indicate the stage of fibrosis, but may be a marker of the progression of fibrosis.
