Hi - I was diagnosed with liver failure in June 2022. I have followed my consultants advice and the condition is now classed as "stable" albeit with a few lifestyle changes. However, I am having trouble obtaining life insurance due to the condition. Have any other members with similar conditions got life insurance and, if so, who were the providers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I also have struggled to obtain life insurance especially after covid. Aviva we’re going to insurance me at a stupid percentage rate but when covid hit the country they withdrawn their offer and investigation.
I’ve managed to take out accidental death with MetLife. Our mortgage broker have offered to connect me with their partnering insurance brokers but I haven’t followed this up.
A lot of places do plans for god forbid funeral costs that could help family members if needed life insurance would prob not cover ongoing health so may be better putting money one side my dad had heart bypasses and same problem he just paid in advance for funeral costs he lived another twenty odd years after I may add so was long time to save glad I had him stuff insurance
When I was pre-tp I also wanted to get life insurance, needed to get false teeth and pay them off monthly wanted to ensure I was not leaving a debt behind for anyone, I also figured I could leave something behind for family/friends. Ofc that is just daft, missed the boat on that one, no one would give life insurance to someone with advanced liver failure, I looked at funeral plans too, but as "Morkmindy" has said better to put the money aside imo.
If you are in the UK, your bereaved can apply for govt. assistance for funeral costs.
Am now post TP so hopefully I have a new lease on life.
Only advice I was given was to try and do it through a broker, presumably they are less concerned with condition and more interested in profit...what do I know 😀
Sun Life hsve a guaranteed acceptance policy which only pays out after you've paid in for 12 months. It pays out immediately if you havecs fatal accident. I had a quote of about £45pm for £10,000 of cover.
