When I go to the Dr's my BP is high.At home it's normal.
Dr kept insisting I needed to go on BP meds but I asked for proof they were needed first so around 6 years ago they arranged a 24 hour test, result my BP was normal.
I saw a new Dr last year and again my BP was high and he wanted to prescribe meds.
This time they did a 7 day test, result normal.
Might not be the same for you but its worth asking for an extended BP test before committing to long term meds.
I’ve been on 10mg of ramipril and 5mg Of amlodipine for many years. If anything I would say because of your liver issues you need to keep your BP under control.
No, I was on ramipril for years. Wasn't an issue for me and is probably helpful.
How did your GP diagnose of high blood pressure? If you didn't go on 24 hour monitoring or ambulatory blood pressure monitoring then there is no confirmation that you have high blood pressure. Blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day. It may also increase due to anxiety or white coat syndrome and most GPs are lazy to follow a proper diagnostic process. I wouldn't start taking high pressure medication without proper diagnosis as some of these medicines come with numerous side effects
