Strange Increased Blood Pressure

This is a great forum, and I have not posted for a long while as I have managed to keep things on a pretty even keel. In the run up to Xmas I had an increase in drinking due to various events and social gatherings. I decided to do dry January, however for the last 7-10 days I have felt rubbish and I have noticed an increase in blood pressure. Nothing else has changed and I am still taking rimipril. Has anyone else had this kind of thing, is there an obvious reason ?

Sounds like you need to see your GP. Alcohol can affect the way Ramipril works so the sudden increase in booze over the festivities and now none at all is propably messing with how your meds are working.

This from the medication guidance:-

Drinking alcohol can increase the effect of ramipril, so that it lowers your blood pressure too much, which can make you feel dizzy or lightheaded. It's best not to drink alcohol until you see how ramipril affects you.
