Thank you.I haven't slept all night because I have arthritis in my spine and with the tummy aswell it has been so painful that I could rip someone's head off. Apart from that I am feeling brilliant. I didn't realise that I was actually I'llπ
Congratulations, now take it easy and don't rush your recovery, it generally takes a year to recover from transplant surgery, no lifting and drink lots of water to protect your kidneys.Hilaryπ
Well done you! Now comes the hard part - concentrate on your fitness without overdoing anything. As soon as you feel tired then relax. Your body has been through a major trauma. Getting rid of the anaesthetic used during your op can take a month or two. For me, I felt back to my normal within 6 months but not everyone goes through at the same rate. Good luck.
Congratulations, and very best wishes. I am 3 months post transplant, and would just like to say it takes time, but I do think that every day I am getting a bit stronger, a bit more "me."
Hi there fellow newbie.I have to admit that I wasn't given my regular med's post op so I was withdrawing from sertaline, Gabapentin ad my epilepsy med's so with that and being fed morphine and the new anti rejection meds I was a wreck. They finally listened to me after they mentioned Ketamin. I blew my stack saying don't you dare come near me with a horse tranquilliser check my notes. Then they realised and I changed within 8 hours. But yes, I was/am worried, so far all is ok.
They took my drain out and the wound gushed. It was awful because the floor was flooding I was praying to die.
The comments of what do you want us to do and the panic to get a mop and bucket made me feel like I was in a 'Carry on' film!
