What medication is he taking? Is he following instructions for taking his meds as per leaflet in the medicine box - some meds require to be taken on empty stomach, some with food, others not with various food types. (Only a thought!!)

Other than that it's probably something to run past his doctor and he probably needs his GI tract examining to make sure there is no issue in his oesophagus or stomach lining - issues with which are common with portal hypertension due to cirrhosis.

Hello there.I did suffer alot with morning nausea and vomiting, when I was decompensated....pretty much every morning.... not nice. Mine would also lessen as the day went on. I'm compensated at the moment, but can still have occasional bouts of nausea.

Take care. Chris

Hi Grizz11 as AyrshireK said some meds need food others don’t but also remember to take your antacid first then I found splitting my morning meds antacid before breakfast then Diuretics then leave it just 5mins or so then the rest, but do let your doctor or liver team know. It’s horrible being sick but also you don’t know what meds are working. Good luck with that it’s not nice 👍.

Stay safe All

Oddly, I have just been through this, it started with vomiting up dairy, then fortisips, then food, even got to dry heaving. I kept a food diary to try and determine what was causing it, whether it was an infection or maybe something I was eating. My only conclusion was that there must be some hidden salt content in the food I buy from Tesco. Thankfully it has now stopped and I am no longer vomiting up all my food!
