Fibroscan results update

Hi all. Just a quick update on my fibroscan results.

Consultant phoned me yesterday with my results.

It's not good news.

I have cirrhosis again 14 month post op.

Just wondering has anyone had this happen to them.

As it seems its just a waiting game for it to now fail again.

I re read your posts as I thought I’d seen you post this a couple months ago so just a little confused….

Was the cirhosis Alcohol related? And you got a transplant is that correct and cirhosis has reoccurred in new liver?

Yes that's correct, but I never had to go to any alcohol therapy as I wasn't drinking enough to have to go and have therapy. So I went straight onto the list.Darren.

Sorry forgot to say, I haven't had any alcohol in over 3 years.

Sorry to hear that Refs, have they deduced why your transplanted liver has gone cirrhotic? I wonder if even previously you had another issue that was/wasn't identified because alcohol has played no role this time and it sounds as though alcohol wasn't the main issue last time either.

Around 5% of the transplants carried out each year in the Scottish unit are retransplant as all manner of things can affect transplanted organ. They will hopefully keep you ticking along and hopefully find out what has caused the damage and if need be get you relisted.
