concerned about liver

hi all, so I’ve been a pretty heavy drinker for about the last 4 years or so. After a night of drinking a few days ago, I woke up extremely dehydrated with yellow diarrhea. I’ve been sober about 3 days now and while consuming an excess of amount of water I am still dehydrated. Ive been having to urinate 1-3 times an hour. I have yet to see the doctors yet, but it’s something that’s slightly concerning. I’m 25 years old. I took a picture of my eyes and they seem to be yellow to me. I’m not sure if it’s my anxiety or if it could be jaundice.

See your doctor and get some simple tests done. Explain your concerns and also be 100% honest about your alcohol intake etc.

As regards your eyes - it is actually against forum rules to post photos for comment since none of us are qualified to interpret photos plus photos reproduce poorly on screen so it is impossible to confirm whether or not they are showing yellowing. I would say though that if it were genuine jaundice then you wouldn't need to pull back your eyelids to see it as you are doing in the photo.

Go and see your doctor - jaundice is the result of too much bilirubin in your bloods so a set of simple blood tests plus a face to face assessment from doctor will tell whether there is anything to be concerned about.

Here is the NHS page on jaundice with photos of genuine jaundiced eyes. nhs.uk/conditions/jaundice/

See a GP asap. your Liver is screaming for mercy. I lost a close family member to cirrhosis of the Liver caused by excessive drinking, he worked, kept very fit and then for the first time in over 10 years he had a bad chest infection, his face and body became yellow and he was hospitalised. Diagnosed with cirrhosis he was told to stop drinking or die, he stopped for a year but, one medic stupidly told him his liver would heal after a year. It didn't, he started to have a few drinks, died suddenly and his family were left heartbroken. Don't be like that, please look after yourself.
