Covid antivirals

I followed the guidelines and contacted my Dr as soon as I tested positive for covid.

Referred right away to an antiviral clinic who advised antivirals CAN effect the liver.

Advice was to monitor for 3 days and if still worsening or no improvement to start antivirals on day 4.

Clinic called me every day to see how I was and offered me hospital admission each time they called.

Excellent service NHS!

By day 4 my temp had returned to normal although felt like I had been run over by a train.

Day 8 and still feeling like death warmed up but did not need to risk the dodgy meds.

I'm glad they have kept a careful eye on you and I hope you keep getting better.

Covid hit me hard and I was also told I couldn't risk the antivirals but they gave me the drip instead, which worked brilliantly.

I have liver cancer and tested positive for Covid on Tuesday, I was contacted and advised to take antiviral pills Paxlovid which they delivered to me yesterday. I started them straight away and already feel a lot better, not sure if they actually had anything to do with it or whether I had just weathered the worst in first couple of days. Just have runny nose/ sore throat now, and the horrible metallic taste. Good luck with your recovery.

They did not give me the antivirals.Seems that if compensated the advice is to watch and wait.

I was given antivirals but I can't remember the name but it began with M. I had to wait a few days before I got them as they didn't want to give me paxlovid because I'm on other stuff for fibromyalgia as well as having PBC so they were asking around what would be best. I was offered the drip but couldn't get that one because I had no one to take me to the hospital which wasn't even the closest one to me so after asking around and talking to my specialist they gave me the other type and I did really well on it. UnfortunatelyI was also on antibiotics and steroids because I had a chest infection at the same time
