Once the appointment with the gastroenterologist is over do they send a report to our GP can I ask for a copy ...has anyone else done this.

Yes, you should be automatically copied in on the GP letter but it’s worth mentioning it, in order to make sure you get your copy. Normally it takes around 2 weeks.

Hi. I hope all goes well. We asked for copies of letters to my partner's GP and they were happy to oblige. It gave us a much better overview and made sure we didn't miss things. Even now, post transplant, we still get copies.Best wishes, K

I always ask for a copy of everything, but now have requested access to my GP records which show all results, consultations etc. Not everyone would want this, but I feel a bit more in control!!
