Once he has had the full assessment, the findings will be discussed as a multi disciplinary team ( drs and specialists and nurses from different areas). If they decide that this is the right option for your husband you will be given booklets and a video link which will explain the whole thing to you. Once you have digested this ( or tried to) its good to come on here with questions. Also you will be given a transplant co-ordinator direct line you can ring with questions.Hope this helps

Hiya, The liver transplant assessment , it's a busy tiring few days but it's ok I promise. Not sure if Ste had any of the tests already MRI, endoscopy, CT, ECG, bloods but they are ongoing tests for Liver disease normally. Wishing you both well and take comfort something is finally being done. Take care 🤗
These will be in the next couple of weeks mri heart and a camera he just waiting for appointments for them had bloods yesterday x
Hi Lippy
I understand the emotions completely🤗 everyone you meet really want this for you and will explain every assessment. It’s a lot to take in, so you might want to write things down and ask questions.
Everyone understands that you are not well, so it’s not about being the best or achieving a goal, it’s about doing it! thought about one assessment at a time and ticked the box (in my head).
Also if you see a dietitian make the most f their advice, so helpful to try and get your food right too👍
Stay safe👍💜
The consultant said his ukeld is 57 I didnt ask what this meant does anyone know x
I can help you a little with this but I am sure there are others on here who can help too. My husband also had a score of 57 in march last year. It is a scoring system designed to work out how serious things are. It's based on blood tests etc. Anything over 49 is deemed serious enough to be offered or considered for a transplant. My husband is now ukeld 53 having followed all advice and change of life style. So even if you are lucky enough to be offered a transplant they will monitor you closely still to see if you can improve things for yourself and sometimes people get taken off the list if they improve enough. Good luck,
UKELD (United Kingdom Model for End Stage Liver Disease) score is calculated based on various of the blood tests (Creatine, Bilirubin, Sodium & the INR/blood clotting time). It is used to give an idea on how severe the liver damage is - a score of 49 is the minimum required for transplant listing in the UK.
The NHS information on liver transplant might be handy for you. nhsbt.nhs.uk/organ-transpla...
