Would anyone be worried about this results change? My Gp is happy their normal and doesn’t think I need further tests but I still think I have cirrhosis. Had been drinking bottle of wine - bottle n half nightly....completely stopped now.

Sept results /January results

Bilirubin (normal range 0-21) September - 13 and January -14

ALT (normal range 0-33) September -17 and January -10

GGT (normal range 0-42) September -11 and January 11

Serum total protein (normal 60-80) September 69 and January -68

Serum albumin (normal 35-50) September -47 and January - 46

Serum alkaline phosphatase (normal 30-130) Sept -41 and January - 48

Platelets (normal 140-440) sept -280 and jan-248

All other tests normal range too.

I realise they are all in normal range but having stopped drinking a month ago I guess I kind of assumed the tests would show a big difference and bit worried A couple seem worse than before? I know you’re not medically trained but I don’t know if I’m being over the top and just be glad their normal and move on from this or push for more tests. Either way it’ll be alcohol free

Be patient, and keep on doing what you know is right for your health. It takes much longer than you expect to start fully feeling the affects of abstinence. It can feel quite discouraging at times if you don't realise this. I'm not medical, but at a glance your results look really good. Keep up the good work and try not to focus too much on the results.Atb

Totally agree with Ewife, your bloods look alright, a consultant would be happy with those. 🙂

Many of my numbers go up and down, it’s normal fluctuations. However you need to keep doing everything you can to improve them. Good for you on stopping the drinking! I’ve been working hard on my glycemic intake as I learn more about diet. I’m probably more hardcore then I need to be but my numbers are looking great and I feel good. #Long term goals
