Hi friends...just did all of my 6 month test and my liver is stable at this time. Stable meansing cirrhosis compensated, HCV treatment still 100% successful!!! But my blood is showing some concern, per GI doctor...and myself! My globulin in my blood is high and the doc says it's not liver related!!! I've been researching it on google but think I need to stop bc it's scaring me a little. I see the hematologist next week so will give you an update then!!! I'm SO thankful for this forum and all the encouragement and support!!! I don't necessarily say much on here but read what others have to say almost daily. Warm regards 🌺Anna🌺
Liver is stable: Hi friends...just did... - British Liver Trust
Liver is stable
Ive only just joined and the information and support has been great, glad to hear things are ok for you presently xx
Hi Anna
That is wonderful your treatment was 100% successful, I start mine within the next 2 weeks. As for high globulin, it does have many causes, I think my brothers is caused by his arthritis. I too scared myself by googling things... Dr google is dr most-frightening-outcome. and 99.9% of the time totally wrong.
Again that is quite lovely that your treatment worked, these antivirals nowadays are incredible.
keep us updated and I hope you get good news
Dave
Hi Dave, I just wanted to let you know that I did the epclusa treatment for the HCV. And let me tell you how thankful i am that it worked...bc after taking a few doses I stopped my treatment, due to a relapse, and then started back a week later!!! I know what your thinking...CRAZY!!! And that it was!!!! The dr let me know I hurt my chances of it working, but let's carry on and hope for the best!!! But anyway, all was well, and that was a year ago, and like I said my recent blood work shows it is still 100% successful!!! All I can say is that's some great medicine!!! And what a miracle it is...I know you will do great with yours too. Which one are they going to use for you? Keep me posted!!!
Hi Anna
I think the epclusa treatment is a combination of meds and I think it is used for all genotypes (I'm not certain) did you have 1 tablet or more?
My liver nurse told me I am genotype 1a and I should get a delivery this coming week. She said the tablet is huge but can be cut in two or crushed, so I assume it is only a one tablet treatment for me but that it will be a combination of Sofosbuvir and 1 or 2 others.
I was so happy hearing my meds would be here soon that I didn't ask any questions... but I will, my team of liver nurses are incredibly friendly and very insistent that I call regarding the smallest concern or question. To be honest, when I had my fibroscan the department was working at 110% capacity, everyone was so busy, but they still found time to sit me down and go through everything. I sent them 100 brownies as a thank you (and a reminder to take a quick break occasionally )
Reading your success makes me feel very confident that my treatment will work.
As soon as it arrives I will post the meds names.
Dave
You are going to be just fine 😊.
How are you doing? Are you still in the hospital? Did you get a new liver? This is what happens when I go a few days not getting on here...lol
My apologies..I've gotten a little behind on what's going on...and I know it's something extremely important to you. And I am excited to here...zukosmile07
Thanks for the support and kind words.I'm not going to sugar coat it. It Sting's a little. I will say that....I don't care because my body has no more cirrhosis to deal with.
I feel absolutely fantastic a feeling I've not had for a very long time. Yes sound cheerier and sometimes a cavalier attitude is what it takes. You will be alright (I can tell) best of luck for your future. X
I can't see me being off the site because of all the help from the unknown people who genuinely care, so I will continue for morale support and funnies because they...you all helped me. Good luck with your journey and keep giving old Dave a quick kick up is arse when he needs it (sorry Dave,if you are reading this)
X
I'm so glad to hear you have a great liver team (for better words) to help and support!! That is great!!! Bc I also had a WONDERFUL team!!! And the brownie idea was marvelous!!! I would've never thought of that!!! Actually it was very thought and nice way to show your gratitude...and I KNOW they loved them!!! Yummy, I wish I had one right now...ok maybe 3 or 4...lol. About the dosage of the epclusa...yes, it was 1 BIG pill a day for 90 days!!! Not bad at all....I was more tired than usual but besides that, couldn't hardly tell I was on it!!! I am so excited for you....it feels so good to know at least your cured of hcv...or in remission should I say!!! At least the inflammation of your liver. Or my inflammation of my liver has since went back down to almost normal-showing my cirrhosis, of coarse!!!
🙃😜😀
What are your globulin numbers (IgG, IgA and IgM)?
Hi Onesmallstep1969, I'm not sure what my number are...I will look it up and let you know. I did see the hematologist and they are testing me for myeloma cancer. I have a bone scan tomorrow and I have to do a 24hr urine test. More blood work then I have my follow up appointment on the 21st to get the answer...is it or is it not the big C word. Scarey!!! The dr said the high globulin levels are due to either my cirrhosis or bc of possible myeloma C.I hope you have a wonderful day...and thanks for writing me back😊
