Do blood tests alone show fatty damaged liver ?
Blood tests : Do blood tests alone show... - British Liver Trust
Blood tests
An ELF Test (Enhanced liver fibrosis) is often tweaked to show up both liver fibrosis and fatty liver. As for the amount of damage being caused, a scan might be the next option.
I always find that by trying to understand what is going on is always the best way. This video maybe of some help. These videos aren't full of medical jargon, and are easy to understand : youtu.be/qIeS9SdjEmI

Basic blood tests show if the liver is under stress but not the cause.A basic ultrasound is indicated if bloods are off and that combined with blood results can indicate liver disease.
Tests don't stop there though.
Theres a scan called fibroscan that can roughly measure the fat in the liver and indicate how stiff the liver is, there's the ELF blood test that Richard mentioned and there's the invasive option of biopsy.
You mentioned in another post that he went to private detox.
If you pay for a private liver screening it about £1000 but results and an explanation of the results are given very fast.
I had mine done at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
There are blood tests which can be used to gauge the amount of Fibrosis. In United states lab like Quest and Labcorp draw blood to perform NASH Fibrosure. Some doctors prefer it over fibroscan!
I'm not sure what exactly you were asking about. The test that I mentioned is a blood drawn test to confirm more advanced stages of Fatty Liver.
