I had my first set of bloods taken after six weeks on Urso and my ALP had dropped from 800 to around 400. They got to a level my consultant was happy with (under 200 was the goal) by about 7 months. I wasn't officially declared an Urso responder until a year, but it was clear from early on that it was working. I hope they work quickly for you.

You can ask anything, though I may not know much as I was only diagnosed 18 months ago. My bilirubin was 46 to start, dropped to 30 something at 6 weeks, and was within normal limits by 7 months. My itching went down as the bilirubin did.

Hey thank you so much. Just looked at your profile and can see you are in the South West of England! So am I - I live in Somerset - Combwich to be precise. This illness is so uncommon - feel quite isolated - no one seems to know much!

You are quite close, I'm in Swindon, Wiltshire. Yeah, no one I know had heard of it either, luckily my GP is brilliant and had me diagnosed in a week. If you haven't already you should join the PBC Foundation, they have a page on here and they are so knowledgeable. They will send you free info packs, which are brilliant, even had one on how to explain it to the kids, newsletters, meet ups, and loads more.
