Slightly elevated bilirubin?

So my husband has always enjoyed a drink, and like a lot of people that increased over the last year. Out of boredom more than anything. He never drank until he was drunk but was putting away at least 4 or 5 pints every night, more at the weekend along with maybe a bourbon and Coke.

I work at the hospital and wanted to check myself for a UTI so I decided to check his - just for the LOLs 🤷🏻‍♀️😆 However, his bilirubin looks slightly elevated. Is this something we should keep an eye on or would you suggest it’s actually negative and I’m unnecessarily freaking out?

Hi,

Its very difficult to interpret a photo and that is why we ask members not to post them.

We would suggest your husband could see see his GP and request a set of liver bloods to see if the bilirubin levels are elevated.

Best wishes.
