Black Stools after 4 days of banding

Hi . My mother had banding done for varices 2 weeks back ... She had another bleeding episode four days back and they again banded 5 bands

It’s been four days but she still has black stools and vomits black blood amd developed diarohhea and all that makes her very miserable

Her doctor says it’s an ulcer bleed and will get better but for now it’s worse

I would strongly encourage you to seek further medical advice regarding this today, perhaps the hospital team who carried out the endoscopy for banding or the liver specialist team ? If it persists today and you cannot reach out for help I would suggest contacting NHS111.

If the bleeding or vomiting worsens or your mothers condition deteriorates please do call a 999 ambulance.
