Hello, I am new to this after recently being diagnosed with PBC and Lupus, and feeling left to get on with it. I feel once the consultants have handed out the appropriate medication, they have done their job. I am just looking for a little community support.
I have had to give up my job as a healthcare practitioner due to ill health and am feeling quite down. How do others cope with the up and downs of this diagnosis?

I see Katie has already advised the PBC forum , so join it and also join the PBC foundation , they are a great support and a good source of knowledge.
It is an emotional rollercoaster we travel on, just know that you are not alone and we are all here to support one another .
What I will add is, although you feel abandoned by consultants , they are always there. Your gp will keep an eye on you ,you will have regular check ins with consultants and the necessary scans and blood tests . It took me a while to build up a good connection with a gp that I felt had my back but now I have , she is worth her weight in gold.
Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to be upset at times. It’s not all doom and gloom, we all adapt our lives the best we can , some are luckier than others with how much symptoms they have.
Thank you Angel46. I think it's all been a shock and as I have felt so unwell for such a long time. Like you say, it's about being kind to ourself and learning to adapt. Thank you 😊
